Tranquillity and a fork in life plans

To be honest, in hindsight I realize that my moving to Armenia was the right decision. The excellent weather, friendly people, low prices and a sense of tranquility changed my mood for the better. For the first time in many years of traveling to different countries, I felt satisfaction not from returning to Russia, but from leaving it.

Now I’m seriously thinking about what to do next. On the one hand I could just go to Berlin and start a new life there, on the other hand it would be a very big drop in income. Also, I could leave everything as it is, and continue to be a remote worker and feel quite well in Yerevan, but this option limits my professional development possibilities. There is also the idea of trying to start a side IT business here in Armenia, especially since the local government has set up truly attractive tax and low conditions. A private entrepreneur has to pay only 5% tax, and if he decides to get an IT certificate, 0%.

To give myself a bit of a boost, I came up with a date by which I had to make some kind of decision. It will be August 12. Why that particular day? I don’t know, it will be about the middle of the month and 12 is a good number. Right now, I’ve marked it on my calendar, so that I don’t forget to share with you the results of my reflections on my future.

These photos are from my last walk in Yerevan. The place never ceases to delight me.

Yerevan, Armenia. June 2022.
