Hello, my friends.

In the previous post I forgot to write some important things. If you didn’t read it, I specify, the post was about “The cheapest car in Russia, price and a few numbers”. Today, I promised to write article about restaurants in Russia, but I will do it the next time.

Autumn in the Russian village

So, in the previous post I forgot to write about taxes, car insurance and fines. Let’s start with taxes.

The tax on cars depends on hp and the region of Russia. For example, if you have a car with 86 hp and live in Saint-Petersburg, you must pay 24 rub for one hp. This is 2064 rub per year. But, if you have a car with 156 hp you must pay 50 rub for one hp. And, this is 7800 rub per year. Let’s imagine that we have a super luxury car with 350 hp. It would be a hell of a story for us. Because we must pay 150 rub for one hp. That would be a tax amount 52500 rub per year. Mind you, the middle salary for Russian citizens is about 43 400 rub per month. This tax is called “transport tax”. The Russian government says it spends money on roads. But Russia has some of the worst roads in the world, like in Nigeria. India has a better roads than Russia today.

In Russia we have a compulsory car insurance. If you haven’t one you are outlaw. If the policeman spot you without insurance, you will pay fine (500 rub). The cost of insurance for a year depends on many factors. For example:

  1. Count of hp
  2. Registration place (Russian region)
  3. Driving experience
  4. Driver age
  5. Accident history
  6. Count of drivers
  7. Validity of insurance

Also, In Russia you can get a special additional insurance. But, it’s more expensive than compulsory one. The additional insurance covers damage even you are a causer of accident.

Like all over the world, Russia have all sorts of fines as you can imagine. I will tell you about two of it.

If you have exceeded the speed limit, minimal fine is 500 rub. The maximum punishment for exceeded the speed limit is 5000 rub fine or suspension car license for half a year. How you can see, it’s very soft punishment for drivers and they are constantly speeding. This is a very big problem of our society. Many people die because of it.

Another common violation is an parking in the wrong place. Fines for it depends of region. For example, if you park your car in prohibited place, your car will be evacuate by the police and you will pay 300 rub of fines. After that, you will have the big problem. The police aren’t required to inform you about your car’s location. You must phone in all special parking for evacuated cars for finding one and after that will pay for keeping. It may be very expensive.

I think, Speeding and improper parking are more common violations at Russian roads.

Oh, writing this article is so hard to me. In the next one I will write about fast food and normal restaurants in Russia.

I would like to ask you again if you see mistakes in the style of the text or mistakes in words and their use, please write to me about this in the comments. As I wrote in the first text, I decide to write here because I am studying English now and at the same time I want to tell a little about myself and the country in which I live.

And I would like to say it again. we are all citizens of our planet and must live in peace.

Thank you for your attention!
